Healthy Black Bean & Avocado Burgers with Creamed Onions-Yum! This recipe is a favorite alternative to a Beef Burger, we love sweet Vidalia Onions and the combination is very flavorful. Using 2 – cans 15.5 ounce (each) Black Beans (I use the smaller ones) drain the beans and place into a large mixing bowl. Add one teaspoon cumin, one teaspoon sea salt, 1/4 cup seasoned bread crumbs, and using a potato smasher or fork mash the ingredients together well, add 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce, dash of hot sauce (any brand), one ripe avocado (remove pit and scoop out flesh) mash into this mixture well. Once all ingredients are combined pat out four nice sized burgers. They take no time to grill on a outside grill a griddle pan (indoors) or baked. For the creamed onions, one large white (sweet Vidalia) onion sliced thinly, add a few dashes of canola oil in a saute pan and add onions, on medium heat, add 1/4 cup heavy cream and white pepper, one teaspoon corn starch, and saute 6-8 minutes. Remove from heat source. Using your favorite rolls/buns add lettuce and tomatoes to the bottom of bun, any favorite condiments, add grilled black bean burger, top with cream onions!
Hope you enjoy them we sure love them!
